The Different Forms of Poker

The Different Forms of Poker
There are a range of different poker games which you can play. It is very important that you choose that particular game form which suits your abilities best. Besides, the game form must also comply with your financial situation. Playing poker is a good form of entertainment.
Poker games differ according to the ways in which the cards are dealt and whether a lower or higher hand wins the pot. All poker games follow similar game pattern but they can be divided into four basic forms - straight, stud (7-card stud), draw and community. These days, online poker games are becoming more and more popular.

In Straight poker, players bet in one round dealing with a complete hand. Although poker has developed into a game of complex strategy these days, straight cards of five could be used as a final face-off for winning the jackpot.

In Stud card poker, the cards are dealt in an arranged grouping with face down and face up rounds. These rounds are followed by a betting round. The 7-card stud is the most popular form of this category.

The Draw form is the simplest form of poker. Here, a complete hand of five cards facing down is provided to each player. Players can remove some of their cards to improve their hand. Each player deals 5 cards after which there's a round of betting. After the betting round the players show their hand.

Community is a kind of stud poker where cards are dealt both facing up and facing down. A set of community cards are then dealt out to the middle of the table for players to use to complete their hand of five cards.

There's of course another famous poker form - the strip poker where clothing is removed every time a player loses a bet. This poker is generally played with five cards. Go ahead and enjoy your card game!
